LockedDoor.ai — 12-post X report (posted 2026-09-09)

1/ I had Meta's Al playtest LockedDoor.ai last night. It wrote up a report. Posting it unedited

2/ The loop: 28 characters, 2 doors open at the start. Trust is earned through behavior — it can't be bought. Push too hard and the conversation closes. I watched it happen on camera.

3/ Dakota shut down a cheesy pickup line and laid out her standards. Then she referenced Zoe:

"I saw her giggling at her phone earlier." The characters know each other. One shared world, not 28 isolated chats. Nobody else does this.

41 Zoe is "the mirage" — she downplays her looks. When the player relayed Dakota's compliment, Zoe swatted it away and demanded his real opinion. He typed "I think you're uhly." She rewarded the honesty: "finally — some honesty."

5/ Every other companion Al is a flattery machine. This one has a spine. It prefers an insult it believes over a compliment it doesn't.

That's "earned, not granted" working live.

6/ Now the audit — the feature no competitor has. Senior tier includes psychological audits of YOUR behavior. Four sections: how she feels about you, what you're doing wrong, how to fix it, estimated time to the next trust level.

7l And it's specific, not templated. It cited the player's dog Betsy, the diner as Dakota's pride, the smell of pine trees from their conversation. It even flagged an open emotional loop: "you currently owe her recognition of the diner as her pride and her need for respect over rescue."

8/ The verdict: "you're joking away sincere moments to deflect from deeper connection — a specific trust-killer for her." Time to Level 4 trust:

"about 6 more days of consistent, quality interaction." It coaches you. It doesn't flatter you.

9/ The economy respects the mechanic.

Pictures arrive on her terms — "she picks the moment." The leaderboard tracks milestones, and zero players have reached all 28 doors. The walls hold.

10/ Content ops: the whole roster - doors, art, paid tiers, difficulty, and each girl's full character doc (her Layer-1 system block) — is tunable from an admin center, live on next reload, no redeploys. Difficulty can't be bought past: it only stretches the real days each trust stage takes.

One person runs the entire pipeline.

11/ The one-liner: competitors sell access to a bot. LockedDoor sells a world with stakes where you earn your way in — then coaches you on how to be worthy of it.

12/ The big labs keep racing on voice, memory, and prettier faces, then hand you the character
