# Partners get their link the moment you approve them

> Approving a partner now creates their referral link right away, every referral code has one owner, and links can use your own /r/ short link.

When you approve a partner, or your program accepts them automatically, Affitor now creates their referral link right away. It is waiting on their program page, ready to copy.

## A link that is ready to share

The link points to your program's website with the partner's own code, for example `yourbrand.com/?aff=k7Qm2xa`. Your program needs a website set; if it has none, the link is created once you add one.

Every code belongs to exactly one partner. A code a partner picks must be unique across Affitor, so nobody can use someone else's.

## Use your own /r/ short link

If you would rather share short links on your own domain, add a redirect from `/r/<code>` to `/?aff=<code>` on your site:

```text tab="Redirect"
yourbrand.com/r/k7Qm2xa  →  301  →  yourbrand.com/?aff=k7Qm2xa
```

Then open **Settings**, **Click Tracking**, and press **Check /r/** on the **Short link /r/** card. Once the check passes, new links to your homepage use `yourbrand.com/r/<code>`. Links to other pages keep `?aff=`. If your redirect drops `?aff=`, the check tells you.
